Discovering the Arcadia Neighborhood

Phoenix Arcadia Home for SaleArcadia is a neighborhood in Phoenix, Arizona. It is bounded roughly by 40th Street to 68th Street and from Camelback Road to Thomas Road. Arcadia contains well-kept homes on large lots; these homes command relatively high property values (as the neighborhood is adjacent to the upscale suburbs of Paradise Valley, the Biltmore area, Scottsdale and north Phoenix). Built on former citrus groves, Arcadia is known for well-irrigated, mature landscaping. Several yards prominently feature orange, lemon and grapefruit trees as reminders of the area’s past; the area used to be occupied by citrus farmers from 1919 to the mid-1950s. In the mid-1950s, the rest of Phoenix caught up with the farms and the area sub-urbanized with characteristic ranch homes on large lots.*

The Arcadia neighborhood is just a few minutes away from major shopping and entertainment areas.  Among others, The Biltmore Fashion Park located on 24th Street & Camelback, or the Scottsdale Fashion Square between Scottsdale Road and Camelback Road.  In between those, you will find a wide variety of restaurants not just in downtown Phoenix, but in Old Town Scottsdale or even at the nearby resorts, such as The Phoenician or the Royal Palms.  For frequent flyers, Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport is just about 15 minutes away depending on your location within Arcadia.
